Did you know that people from all over the world are now illegally flooding into the US through Texas? I didn't either. But this guy certainly thinks so.

“You gotta stop the flow of people coming across and my friends who have places in South
Texas tell me -- as a matter a fact a guy told me last night -- he said we’ve got people coming across our place speaking Chinese, French and basically all of the languages in the world, coming through and across our southern border,” Cornyn said during an interview.

The fact is our Texas border is more secure than ever before. Border crossings are at a 40 year low. Undocumented immigration is at or below net zero. That means that not only are very few coming in, but more are being sent in the opposite direction.

President Obama has tripled border security since taking office. Border agents patrol every single mile of the border every day and the vast majority of the border already meets Homeland Security’s highest standards of security.

But those facts don't make the case that Cornyn wants to make. They don't serve the narrative he wants to promote. The time when undocumented immigrants were pouring over the border was during the Bush administration. Did people like Cornyn whine and make a lot of noise back then? Of course not. They kept their big mouths shut like good, obedient little Republicans.
