Republican Jackass of the Week

The award goes to Rudy Giuliani... the man Vice President "O'Biden" accurately described as a man whose every sentence consists of a noun, a verb, and 9/11.

But in typical Republican revisionist history, apparently the US never had a terrorist attack during George W Bush's term. Let me repeat that: there was never an attack under Bush. (Scroll down to the Nov 30 post to see video of Bush's final spokesliar, Dana Perino, who also conveniently forgot about the most deadly terrorist attack and biggest security failure in the history of the United States of America.)

First, Rudy the Red Nosed Liar said there were no attacks; then he said there was one after 9/11; then he said the anthrax attacks were not considered terrorism -- although Bush's own attorney general said they were; etc.

Somehow, probably from watching the Fox Comedy Channel, he magically forgot about 9/11, anthrax, the LAX airport shooting, the Muslim DC sniper, the shoe bomber...........

It's Official (Again): We Let Bin Laden Escape

A new Senate study shows what we've known for years, and what Senator John Kerry stated many times: that US forces had Osama Bin Laden within their grasp, and allowed him to escape.

From Salon.com:

According to the report, then-Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld turned down requests for a larger American troop presence to block escape routes from Tora Bora. The study contradicts the claim of former Vice President Dick Cheney, who said that it wasn’t conclusive at the time where the terrorist leader was. In fact, according to the report, bin Laden was clearly in reach at Tora Bora. Even he thought it was already over: Expecting to die, he wrote up a last will and testament.

Could She Possibly Be Dumber Than Her Boss?

Is it possible?

George Bush's final spokesliar, the fast-talking-yet-slow-thinking Dana Perino actually said -- get this -- "We did not have a terrorist attack on our country during President Bush's term." Wow. This, right after jumping to the conclusion that the shootings at Fort Hood by US Army Major Nidal Hasan are to be classified a terrorist attack, despite the fact that the FBI has stated that they were not. Hasan had no connection whatsoever to any terrorist organization; he was just another nutcase with a gun.

Watch Dana blurt out possibly the biggest lie in Fox history while the guest and talking-points-parrot Sean Hannity sit there and let it slide.

And they still wonder why nobody takes them seriously.

Republicans Don't Trust the American Justice System

So the Obama Administration has decided to try Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and 4 others in New York City for their 9/11 terrorist attacks. Finally, the people responsible for the biggest terrorist attack in American history -- which happened during the Bush/Cheney Administration -- will go to trial. Putting these people on trial right in the city they tried to destroy, while the whole world is watching, is great news, right? Not for Republicans, the party of "no"... the party that finds that dark cloud on a sunny day. And why not?

Apparently republicans have no faith in the American Criminal Justice System, the one that they're always touting as the best in the world; the one the rest of the world should emulate.

Why do republicans hate America?
